Dear Doreen,
Just thought I would drop you a note regarding
a dachshund that my family adopted from you
2/08. He was born Dec 1 2007. His baby picture
is on your album wall the 18th slide down,
the black and tan pup sitting on the step.
We have enjoyed him tremendously and he now
has several sisters and brothers that have
been added to our home to give him company.
His brothers and sisters are all rescue dogs.
Oliver, our boy that we purchased from you
by far has the softest coat, he is our smallest,
and has the nicest dachshund features. Being
our first in the house he designated himself
as the alpha and he takes his watch job seriously.
He has a feisty personality and true to the
dachshund breed is stubborn and determined.
I have enclosed a few pictures of Oliver
as he is now. He always wears a red harness
so he is the pup with his eyes open in the
photo that has two dogs.
Hope all is well with you and your family.
I occasionally look at your site to see the
beautiful puppies that you have available.
:)
Sincerely, Denise B
So happy we came back a month later for 2
more!!!!
Hi Doreen-
I'm writing this to say that Baron is the
smartest dog in the whole wide world of dogs.
He had one poop accident in the house on
Saturday and one on Sunday but that was only
because I was unfamiliar with his signs and
we were just getting used to a routine. This
morning, he went to the back door and when
I took him out, he did his business almost
immediately. I couldn't believe it. At night,
he whines for about 2 minutes before quieting
down and he uses his wee wee pad overnight
and he knows "sit" and "down."
He will also pee on command outside now,
even in unfamiliar surroundings. He is everything
I could ever hope for in a puppy and I am
so glad he picked me and vice versa.
I hope my other dog Luke has a long, healthy
life ahead of him, but when he decides it's
time to go, we're going to be giving you
a call. And if any of my friends come asking
me for breeder recommendations, I will not
hesitate for one second to send them in your
direction.
Thanks so much for taking the time with us
on Saturday and answering our questions and
putting us at ease and selling us my own
personal pick of the litter.
Melanie, Ross, Luke & Baron (we totally
kept the name!)
Hi Doreen,
It has been 6 months since we picked up Lilly
Mae and brought her home to
Connecticut. As I have said in earlier emails
she is the love we needed
here after the death of a sweet Doxie friend.
Our friends who lost their
Daisy even came to pick up Elvira (now the
ever adorable Ella) about 3
months ago. I check you website almost daily,
not sure why, I guess I like
to torment myself (we have those darn zoning
laws here too.) I have watched
some of the pups I desired go to others and
that was meant to be
(Hemingway.) I also know you are struggling
to find homes for some of
those older beauties. If I can ever talk
my husband into breaking the
"rules," I will get back to you
in a heartbeat.
I decided that Lilly really needed to be
Nick's pup so we did have her
spayed in February. She did great and came
home that afternoon which gave
me much relief. Maybe one day I can try my
hand at breeding but with a
greyhound and Lucy(corgi/Papillion) and the
cutest little Lilly Mae that
idea is on hold for now.
I am praying for Sandy and her last pup,
Hope, daily and am so thankful that
the little one is still with us. Once Sandy
was spayed did she not get a
chance to nurse her pup? I remember when
we met you that you talked about
emergency C-sections and I know that was
a bad day for you.
So please know that your breeding of beautiful
Doxies has added such joy to
our live. Puppy mill dogs can be such a nightmare
from what I have seen and
I am so glad to have come to a knowledgeable
breeder who truly loves the
breed.
We pray that all of your transitions go smoothly
and that we will visit you
again one day in the not too distant future.
Sincerely,
Amy Meredith

"These were taken today at my friend's
house on Long Island. She has 2 labs.
I got "Fredo" ("Harrison)
about a month ago. He's a wonderful dog!
We couldn't be happier."

Sir Mustard loving his new home.
"Morning everyone and a beauty it is.
The sun is blasting and Sir Mustard is here.
Rough night though. A lot of crying. We played
with him until 11 then took him to the potty
and put him in his crate. He went right to
sleep. 2AM, hello, got up and took him to
potty, no go. Put the TV on and he went back
to sleep. 4:30 AM, hello, Daddy took him
potty, success. Back to sleep until 6. Took
him potty and put him in the play pen. Gave
him his breakfast and meds which he gobbled
up, he played for a bit and is now crying
to be picked up. Sorry, I need coffee first.
Playtime is later. " Lynne
Hi Doreen,
I just wanted to tell you that I slept last
night from 11PM till 5:30 this morning and
I didn't cry. My Mommy covered my crate and
that helped. I also know where the wee wee
pad is and I always use it. I am learning
to use the liter box also. I am really being
a good boy and I love my new home.
Luv and licks,
Musty

Hi Doreen,
Just wanted to share a moment of Beckett
in his new home. Looks like he found a "friend"
to hang out with.
He spent a lot of yesterday roaming the house
(whimpering a bit) - we guess he was looking
for his brothers. He started to become a
little more comfortable around us towards
the end of the day.
We crated him last night, and boy did he
whine during the night. It was so hard not
to go down and calm him, but we all managed
to get through the night. I can't tell you
how happy he was to see us this morning.
He is quite playful today, and afterwards,
he likes to take a little doggy-nap. We have
set up a pen outside and we are learning
when to take him out. He has quite an appetite
today and loves to follow each of us around.
We set up a fuzzy blanket on the floor and
after he explores a bit, he actually comes
back to that spot. We picked up some small
chew toys and he loves to know on them and
throw them around. He also loves Tommy's
sneakers.
We will send more pictures soon.
Thank you so much for all of your help.
Rob, Debbie, Marlene, Tommy and Beckett

Hey Doreen,
Just thought I'd send a quick hello. Blitzen's
doing great. He woke me up every time he's
needed to go potty & no accidents. Not
really any whining either. He's eating real
well, and he's playing a lot. He likes to
chase feet :)
He's doing so good! I'm so proud of him.
He's actually curled up next to my neck right
now... that's his favorite spot. He goes
to the vet tomorrow, and I'll let you know
what happens. I'll send pictures soon, and
I can't wait to get about 10 more!! :)
Thanks so much for everything. I really appreciate
all that you've done for us.
Cassie
No problem. Even with all the scares with
Blitzen, I still recommend you before anyone
else, and I AM buying my next puppy from
you... I don't care if I get a discount or
not... it's the experience that matters,
and I am glad that you were the breeder I
found. I couldn't have paid you enough for
how amazing you made the experience of buying
our first puppy.
I hope someday to be as amazing of a breeder
as you. I am going to be a stay home mom,
with a small daycare, and breed dachshunds...
but don't worry, I will still be sending
business your way.
I can't wait to send you more pictures and
show you how big he's gotten... I have some
that are so precious.
Cassie

Doreen, Fred is doing very well. We had a
good trip home. He did not cry or get sick.
He seemed a bit lonesome and withdrawn last
night, but today he is bouncing around and
following Anne and I everywhere. We took
him to the vet today and received a clean
bill of health. He is eating well and is
very affectionate and friendly with us. We
absolutely adore him. Last night he did not
cry once. We put him in the crate about 11PM
and took him out once about 3:30AM for a
walk. Thanks for everything. John and Anne
Doreen, The second night was even better.
We put him in the crate about midnight and
he slept until about 6:30AM without any accidents.
He didn't even cry during the night. He is
really a great dog.
Fred is really wonderful, is crate training
very well, and we are so happy to have him.
John
AKCDACHSHUNDNY'S MADE DAPHNE is STAYING HERE
TO BECOME FUTURE MOMMY!
Hi Doreen!
She is doing GREAT. She went to the bathroom
3 times (on the pad)
just like you said.
Megan
Doreen, Fred is doing fine. I enclose a new
picture of him. We gave him a bath today,
his first. He did not object to it at all.
Training is going well, except that he wants
to play with our pants and shoes all the
time.
Fred is really a wonderful dog and we love
him very much. We were certainly lucky and
fortunate to find you and this great puppy.
John and Anne

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank
you for taking the time to show us your wonderful
Dachshunds. You educated us and infused us
with some of the enthusiasm you demonstrated
about the breed.
If we had the choice we would have asked
for the black and tan puppy we had out on
the floor. But the timing is just a bit off.
We are doing a small renovation project in
our basement and changing the furniture in
Tommy’s room. My wife and I would like to
complete these projects then prepare the
house for the puppy.
You said that you had two litters expected.
Tommy is looking for a large Mini (Tweenie)
with long hair in black and tan, blue or
the same coloring as Bailey(by the way what
is his coloring called). We were very impressed
with the temperament of the black and tan
puppy and hope that the next litters bring
such beautiful examples of your breeding
philosophy.
Can you let us know if you believe there
will be a match for us?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank You,
Pat, Patti and Tommy

Doreen,Here is the most recent picture of
Fred. He is doing really well. He now weighs
over 5 pounds and we are enjoying him very
much.

TWINKIE WAS ADOPTED BY CHERYL OF LEHIGHTON
PA
DOREEN,
SHE IS ABSOLUTELY SWEET! I HAVE QUITE A BIT
TO TELL YOU……….
SHE WAS SOOOOOOO GOOD ALL THE WAY HOME SHE
SLEPT AND THEN SAT UP AND LOOKED OUT THE
WINDOW. SHE DIDN’T GET CAR SICK AT ALL. STOPPED
AT MCDONALDS AND SHE HAD A HAMBURGER. SHE
LOVED IT. THEN GOT HOME AND NO PROBLEMS WITH
THE OTHER DOGS AND HER. JUST LIKE SHE’S BEEN
HERE ALL ALONG. GAVE HER A BATH IN MY GARDEN
BATHTUB, WHICH SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVED. SHE
KEEPS GOING BACK AND JUMPING INTO THE TUB
AND ROLLING AROUND IN IT…HA HA. THEN SHE
FOUND A TOY THAT SHE WON’T GIVE UP. SHE CARRIES
IT AROUND WITH HER LIKE IT’S ONE OF HER PUPS
AND TRIES TO HIDE IT FROM THE OTHER DOGS.
SHE IS UNDER MY FEET WHEREVER I GO AND IF
I SIT DOWN SHE’S RIGHT ON MY LAP. SHE SLEEPS
IN BED WITH ME AND I GET KISSES ALL NIGHT
LONG. I THINK SHE IS SO SWEET. I HAD TO GO
TO THE GROCERY STORE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON
AND WHEN I LEFT MY HUSBAND SAID SHE RAN AROUND
LOOKING FOR ME AND FINALLY GOT THE FIRST
BARK OUT OF HER AT THE WINDOW LOOKING FOR
ME. I THINK I FOUND MY LAP DOG. SHE IS DOING
JUST FINE AND IS QUITE A JOY TO OUR FAMILY.
I’LL KEEP YOU POSTED ON HER.
THANKS FOR ASKING. OH, MY SON’S GERMAN SHEPHERD
HAS BEEN DELIVERING HER PUPS SINCE 4PM YESTERDAY.
UP TO 11 PUPS RIGHT NOW.
TALK TO YOU SOON,
CHERYL
Doreen,
Just to let you know…….Twinkie is doing fine.
She has adapted quite well. We took her to
the groomer on Tues, June 3rd and my grandson
took her picture with his digital camera,
since I don’t have one, and I’m sending you
her picture to show you her new doo! (hair-doo)
She looks great and I’m sure it keeping her
a whole lot cooler with this blasted heat
wave!!!!! She has not gone into heat yet,
however, I don’t foresee any problem with
her and Rudy in regards to producing. Hope
everything is well on your end. Drop me a
line when you have time.
Thanks,
Cheryl
Wow!
Thank you
Buddy had a nice car ride home. He crawled
into my oldest son shirt and fell asleep
until we got home.
His first night went very well. Both of my
sons couldn't leave him so buddy joines them
in our family room for the night. Buddy hasn't
made a sound since he left your house.
He explored the kitchen, family room and
the yard but when he needs us he turns around
and comes right back and crawls into the
boys lap. What a sweet heart!
A few questions:
What is the name of the dog food? ( Should
have written it down)
Should we soften the food?
What is the name of the pads?
Thank you again
The Murry's

Sorry for the delay
Buddy is doing great! We are in love with
him.
We introduced him to our other dog Aaron
(our Shorthaired Pointer) but
Aaron is a bit large and full of energy for
any extended play time at
this point.
Buddy is getting out into our yard alot and
likes to explore (as long as
we are next to him) he never strays too far.
Thank you again he is precious.
The Murrays

WE are home, safe, sound, and super happy!
Hilda is such a doll. She slept in my arms
all the way home. She fit in with the other
animals really easy. Now she is on the couch
enjoying her raw-hide. She has already "claimed"
her kennel. Which was the one we wanted her
to use anyway. I hope you enjoy all the pictures
I have attached. I think you will be pleased!
She looks so happy!
Thank you again!
~Jaime

Hi Doreen!
I am sorry it has taken me so long to write
-- Jennifer Lopez is doing so well!! She
is so much fun -- we laugh all of the time.
:)
I am writing because we are considering getting
another dachshund (I am working on Steven...)
and was wondering if you had any opinion
as to whether you think a boy or a girl would
be a good fit with J-Lo. Does it matter i
your opinion?
I see that you have a few smooths left from
the Lola litter...will they be minis or standards?
And when would they be ready to go home?
I also see that you have another litter coming
up of smooth minis within the next few weeks,
so I guess that could be another option too.
Anyway let me know what you think and just
wanted to thank you again for Jennifer. We
love her so much.
